About the author

Thich Nhat Hanh (1926–2022) was a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, Zen Master, poet, and peace activist. Revered as one of the most influential spiritual teachers globally, he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King Jr. in 1967 for his work during the Vietnam War. Exiled for his peace efforts, he continued humanitarian work, rescuing boat people and helping to resettle refugees. ​In 1982 he founded Plum Village in France, the largest Buddhist monastery in Europe. He authored over 100 books, including many bestsellers on mindfulness and meditation, translated into more than forty languages.
